if it is your first time changing the lights, I would take off the tires just so you can see where everything is. once you are comfortable with the feel of that area, you can either just turn the tires or go through the top.
but if you try going through the top w/o knowing where/how things are oriented be prepared to replace something b/c you'll probably break something

Nah I did all the lights through the wheel well except the fog light. The fog light is a reach through the wheel well and hard to see. Meanwhile, from the top? It's right there so it's a breeze. It's also so easy to go from the top. Three bolts, pull out, pull out the extender for the washer fluid and you have direct access.
I'll be doing the other bulbs through the top when I get them this week, I'll let you guys know which one I found to be easier. The D2S can easily be changed simply by turning the wheel, there was enough room to see how everything was put together back there, but once you reach in you can't see your hand at work. A rookie might have some trouble figuring it out without seeing what he's physically working on, but I've had quite some experience changing bulbs so I'm used to it.
Which bolts exactly? I tried looking around and I couldn't figure out what to unbolt to get to the parking light bulb. I think that I would have to remove the intake box but that seems like way more than 3 bolts.

yes, if you have the OEM intakes you will either need to take off the tires or take out the intakes (the intake would be MUCH easier)...with my Stillen Gen3 I can just reach in and get to it.

Looks good, I will be picking up some Philips Ultinon 6000K bulbs this weekend. It should be a breeze since I'll have the whole bumper off to install the Injen CAI. actually I'll have the wheels off too to install my KW's
Lights are done! Looks much better IMO. I rarely use the fogs, and when I do, I want max visibility so I will be keeping the OEM bulbs for those situations.

Looks good. Chrome blinkers were mentioned here several times, where did you guys pick those up? I have LED replacements enroute from V-LEDS for all interior, license, reverse and fogs, but haven't decided what to do with the blinkers yet...
search for HamstersG and look up his thread on it...he has the link to the "chrome dome" lights. I think it's autolumination.com but check his thread to be sure
^ Also, if you dont want to take off the tires, another option is to drop the front bumper quickly, and then just slide the headlights out further. I did that when taking out the sidemarker bulbs and it only took maybe 20 minutes from start to finish.

Yep, perfect, thanks, found his thread and ordered the full chrome amber bulbs. Also did my fogs last night and went thru the top to do it (with 6K VLEDS, they showed up yesterday afternoon.) Pulled the intake boxes, very easy, just enough room, will do my blinkers that way too.
