2010 Sedan Fog lights

Hey guys I know the 2010 fogs are 9006 bulbs, but the thing is, does the wire harness get that hot? I was checking on racinglab.com and they "suggest" buying an aftermarket wire harness because the bulbs can/will get too hot and melt the original wire harness.

Is this true or just a bunch of crap to make some extra $$$?

2010 sedan fogs (lower grills) are NOT 9006, theyre H8.

As long as you replace them with the same wattage, like 55w and not put a 100w bulb the wiring will be fine.

Wow thanks for the lookout Stoof. I knew something was wrong with the sylvania website.
So would this one work? http://www.racinglab.com/piaa-hb-18535.html It says 12V35W=75W. Would this be too hot?

efuse: I know right. Would be an easy check.

no. that link is for an HID bulb, if you want HIDs in your fogs, youll need a full HID kit.

I think you also need to install a conversion kit to use HID bulbs for the foglights. Good ones can be found inexpensive, but a bit more work than just changing a bulb I assume.

Edit: sorry, posted too late -- what he said ^^

if you can change a bulb, you should be able to install an HID kit. its really not that hard.
