Hello all, I am new to the forums and have a question about my new 2010 G37x.

What is this small pin light that shines down on the shifter and center console called?

I had the same thing in my old 2007 G35x but it was MUCH brighter. Does anyone know how I can adjust the G37 light to be brighter?

 

its call the ambient light. i dont think u can adjust the brightness or even turn it off

 

The 07 model had two of those I believe. One on the left, one on the right.

That light isn't supposed to be bright, or even very noticeable. It's there so you can see basic shapes in the cupholder, etc. at night. It's definitely not intended to be a reading light or anything of the sort, and placing a bright LED in there might be distracting and annoying to you while you're trying to drive.

 

The 2007 dual lights were very nice. You could adjust the brightness with the normal dash gauges adjustment, and they were just a little brighter. I will look into swapping out the bulb for slightly brighter one.

It's a pretty small thing, and I am happy to say that this is about the only thing I have been disappointed with on the 2010. Its been great so far!
