I think the way they have the "auto" as the first option on the switch is stupid. It says right in the manual to avoid turning the headlights on for a brief time. The fact you have to go past auto to turn them on (auto=> parking=> headlights on) means if you are in the garage and have to turn headlights on because it's raining (law in MD) they essentially come on for a brief second on the way past the auto setting. Auto should be the last option you come to and not the first or like on my old Sienna you turned it one way for auto then the other direction (from off) for manual.
