Leather Seat Appointment
its been about 5 months for me and mine looks ok. on the original seat it looked like a bubble in the right buttock area of the seat - as if I had a big fat wallet in my back pocket (I never put a wallet in my back pocket). and certainly don't have a fat wallet!
agree - the seat leather looks softer than the original which allows it to move around more?

i have a brand new vert that had the seat cracking or wrinkling problem and it was replace on warranty but the seat is softer and a total different leather than the oem factory one.it took awhile to get the seats in as well. they had to take a pic to show the rep and he approved it. it was only 2 months old before i decided to bring it in. my leather in my 03 accord looks better but i guess its more like a pleather..lol.my infiniti badging on the seat was also falling apart and they replaced those as well. thank god for warranty for those parts are NOT cheap.. i lost sleep over it waiting for the rep's reply on the go ahead to replace that ****.
Just an update, they finally got the OK to order the bottom seat unit and it will be here in 4 days. I just hope whatever they give me lasts. I am happy my dealer complied but I guess they had too given how new my car is.
blindman, do u have pics of the problem areas that we can see? my car is a garage queen and i only have abou 12k miles in 2 yrs, but i think i may see indications of a bubbling where i sit. considering how long ive had the car, im not sure infiniti will do anything for me.
Make sure before you take it in to check the firmness of your leather seat and compare it to the new one.

The new seat cushion is def. softer than the previous one. It seems that the leather is softer and there is more cushon.
The difference was noticible - and I wasn't even sure if the replacement was an OEM Infiniti part - until I had a new sedan as a loaner and realized that the seats match sedan's.

Got mine back today. Looks good and the material is softer. To me, it is more comfortable as well. Time will tell I suppose if it is a good fix or not.
On a a side note, I had a base 2010 G37 sedan as a loaner. In case anyone has not checked them out yet, here is my take on the changes. I like the front end, looks better in person. The center stack is mostly better but the plastic chrome ridges on the sides feels a little cheap. I would have used the same brushed aluminum there as well. I am indifferent toward the white gauges and the brushed versus Washi aluminum. I think I like the Washi better as it does not show smudges. Big improvement in the center price of the shift **** that used to dent and scratch super easy. It is now duller in finish and much more durable to withstand a ring. Yes, I tested it! Not much else changed that I saw but this one did not have navigation. I think Infiniti is overall pleased with these cars and just wanted to refine them a little bit so they won't get stale.

I think an aftermarket premium leather vendor could actually design and sell just the butt portion of our seats, color matched to all our interiors, and there'd be a market for it. lol.
