Question regarding Illuminated Kick Plate...

The '09 coupe I'm about to purchase doesn't come with the illuminated kick plate. Is it possible for the dealership to install them (hopefully free as part of the negotiation)? It looks really nice when dark outside.

I know it's possible for them to replace them.. haha.

I thought they were cool too initially (my coupe had them preinstalled so really no choice there) but the coolness factor fades after a while imo. Plus, it's hidden most of the time.

That's true. Maybe I'll ask them for a splash guard instead.

I don't even notice mine anymore. I think it's one of those things where you'd regret not getting, but you're apathetic about it when you do get it.

Exactly. I would never have gotten a G37 without them but now I hardly notice them....

I installed them on my car, I and people who see them think they are very cool. I still notice them all the time, adds a touch of class IMHO. The white LED illumination it uses needs to be matched with interior LED replacements though.

I love those things, but like everything else you forget about them after a while...

BUT It is nice when you open the door for a chick and they get all wet... hahaha
I've had a couple of girls notice them..

Still notice mine.... didn't really need them though. My G37S was the only S they had in the area so I had no choice. It's a cool feature, but I can live without a lot of the "fluff" in the G. I'd rather drive with less toys.

But it's a cool accessory.

+1 if they have it but I really don't think you need it. Mine came with it but if it didn't I would of still bought the car.

It's a nice thing to have, but do you want to spend $250 or $300 on illuminated kick plates? If so go for it

Mine came with the splash guards, truck mat, cargo net, kickplates and I added the interior accent lighting myself. It gives the interior a nice touch, def worth having IMO. Now the $550 spoiler is a waste...

Can you shed some light (no pun intended) on the interior accent light? Is it on all the time, if no how is it turned on/off? Is it dim enough not to be a distraction to the driver?

I take what I said back haha... last night I was showing my car to a G35 owner and he was mesmerized by illuminated kickplates (that and the paddle shifters and in-dash nav).

Splash guards are a must they look very good on this car. Kick plates are just ehh. They came with my car so I didn't argue but if I could have removed them and save a few bucks I would have. Passengers always comment on them though when the enter and exit the car. So if you have a lot passengers who don't ride in your car regularly then get them cause everyone makes a comment on it for some reason.
