Need a new front bumper, any ideas?

Yesterday I was exiting the highway and hit (a love tap, really) the back of another Infinti (some giant SUV), while checking for oncoming traffic. I was going under 5 mph and if it had been any other car it probably would of just scuffed some paint, but this thing had a big square trailor hitch

I gave the guy my info, but there was absolutely no damage to his car so I doubt I'll be hearing from him. As for my brand new baby, it has a square hole punched in the front left of the bumper (I can take some pics if anyone is interested).

This is the first accident I've ever been in so I don't really know the best way to go about this is. I'm going to stop by the dealer recomended collision place and get an estimate after work.

The other things I was thinking are: maybe I could just buy the bumper, get it painted and put it on myself with the DIY thread. I heard that you can just buy the outside plastic and it's cheaper than the whole bumper. Does anyone know where you can buy parts like this?

Thanks for any advice, it a crappy situation but hopefully I can get the G looking like new again.

UPDATE: I want to buy anyone's stock bumper who's willing to sell. If you're interested PM me with pictures, description, and price shipped to 74112. I'm looking to pay around $200 shipped, if you aren't willing to get close to that price please dont reply (a new one is $300). I'm also wanting to get something quick, because I can't take my baby looking like this! Thanks.

A good shop should be able to fix the bumper but most likely they will buy a new one. Your insurance not going to buy you a new bumper? I would go through insurance. A new bumper is about 300-400 without a paintjob new.

There is a member on here selling a Fiberglass aftermarket bumper. Give him a PM. I heard he is legit and his bumper looks badass

Damn, you guys really want to move that bumper...

The dealership told me it would $308.00 unpainted. How much would a good paint job be?

As for the insurance, I have a $1000 deductable and the rate would shoot up. Since there was no damage to the other car I think paying cash is the way to go.

then probably around 250-400 to paint the front bumper since its not ivory pearl. It really depends on the shop. I suggest calling your infiniti dealership and asking them for a recommended shop

i would call your insurance and see if u have accident forgiveness and if they'll lower your deductable depending on how long you've had your insurance and haven't had a claim. Also i doubt it'll increase your premiums if u just have 1 claim...

It will increase your premiums, just buy a bumper off ebay (there are lots of OEM ones) and get it painted and installed without notifying insurance...no sense to waste that "get out of jail free" card (if you have it) on a small fender-bender

I sure don't have a get out jail free card, so that's not even an option.

The ebay idea is perfect, but I'm getting confused on what type of bumper I have. My car is an 2009 Journey Sedan non sport, but all of the non sport bumpers I see on ebay don't look like mine. My bumper looks like the sport version, with a open space at the bottom (where you can see the radiator) and two plastic filled indentations on either side. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Also am I correct in assuming any 2008-09 bumper (sport/non sport/couple) will fit my sedan? Thanks for all the help guys!
