I just put the Midnight grill on today. Having seen some painted ones and knowing what my painting skills are, I opted for the OEM one. Nicely finished and the black has a metallic spec look to it.
If you want to be able to return to stock and/or don't have the time to find a good body shop that will do anything for $100, then you might opt to just buy the midnight OEM grill.

Here are some pictures. Hope they help. First 2 pictures are the same just that the second one was edited down to smaller size. In pic 3 and 4, you can see the "fleck" in the paint which is not really that noticable except when light hits it just right.
