Bump in the central armrest

I just found a bump on the central armrest. Im not sure if this was there before or after I took the car in to get my CD player looked at. Please advise.

Do you rest your arm a lot on it? It may have caused it to go down maybe?

That's supposed to be there. It's there for wired devices (i.e. the iPod cable that connects inside the console) so you can have the iPod in your cupholder.

the bump is there so you can close the armrest on the ipod wire, if you choose to have your ipod outside your armrest.

its for the ipod cable, looks different for the 6MT though, but its quite convenient, lets me take my iphone off of it quicker when leaving since its not in the compartment. as for the loaner, i dont think that car had ipod integration( i think its only available with the premium package?)

I dont think that would be possible unless you look something like that

Thank you for your feedback! I tried pushing it down without any success so my first guess was that it was there already but just wanted to make sure.

look at the underside of the armrest lid, it should have a cutout in the same place so any cables can run into the armrest.

Its not specifically for the ipod, it could be for something going into the aux jack or the cig lighter.
