The soft paint issue

Is it still present in the new 09 models or has it been dealt with? Also, if in the future I'd want to do something like this to the car

http://www.bmwblog.com/2008/08/06/ho...using-3m-tape/

Would it be possible on the G?

Erm, possible meaning, would it damage the paint or not? :P
Sorry if I posted on the wrong section btw.

Anything can be done if you have the money. If it can be done to a bmw, why not our cars. I doubt it hurts the paint as long as it is put on properly.

Just curious what people expect Infiniti to do about the soft paint issue. They are not going to recall every car and repaint them. Anyway I have an 09 and no real paint issues. Couple rock chips in the bumper from highway driving but thats expected.

I have an 08 with a couple of tiny chips in the front, what seems to be normal chipping from highway driving. But I have heard many times this issue with our paint, to say the least it's very disappointing to hear this when buying a $40K car.

The work on the black_but_now_white bimmer seems to look really good on the pics. Seeing it in person would be the real test.

Just because the car is higher price =/= harder paint. That's how the new paint are without lead, just live with it.
