Smoking taillights.

I tried searching already...

Has anyone here smoked their taillights by themselves? I've been wanting do mine GT-R style.

I want to try Bat's overlays but I've heard nightmares about putting them on.

I just need some info on prepping, what's the best transparent paint spray I can use and what type of clear coat to use.

Thanks.

is there any law against having tinted tails where you live?

as far as overlays, just find a good tint shop, vinyl or graphics guy and see if he can do it for you.

can't help as far as smoking them, sorry

Doing it yourself can work, but you have to be experienced at it or you will ruin your tails. Also, using the correct tape to tape out the circles is important too, because if the paint leaks through, it will look horrible.

don't smoke them bro. that was a fad in 2005. i swapped my smoked ones for factory ones and it looks so much cleaner to me. not to mention pretty much every car down here has smoked tails.

I saw a Prius with smoked lights and black rims, what has this world come to?

Thanks guys, maybe I'll just try Bat's overlay. At least it can be removed if I change my mind.

There's sprays that can be removed too. The spray I used on mine can be removed by Goo-Gone or Goof-Off stuff like that will take it off.
