They look great except for the amazingly ghetto looking screws that they're mounted with. Surely you could have come up with a better looking solution than that to make them look nicer?

Yep.. anything magnified 100 times looks terrible...but you won't see them when standing 3 feet away..
any suggestions..
There are stainless steel staples just like the screws you used that don't rust. It's just my opinion, but the screw heads are a lot more noticeable to me than you seem to think they are. There's probably other options out there that are even better but more involved. Like maybe having the mesh bend around inside the edges of the lip of the faux vents and attached by countersunk screws from the outer edge. I have upper and lower aftermarket grilles on my Maxima and they are mounted with cable ties. I was really disappointed in the product. They're not as obvious as your screws, but no matter how you spin it, that's still ghetto.
I think stock painted silver or gunmetal grilles would look awesome... like this:
IMHO, that spaghetti strainer looking mesh looks like crap.
CRAP means Creative Replacement Add-on Parts
Any one can paint an existing part...
right???
and you can take CRAP off and you are back to OEM configuration.
Has anyone running the Injen CAI removed these vents completely for increased airflow to the filters? I think the filters sit right behind these faux vents no? This would actually make these "holes" in our fascia functional! Im curious how bumper looks with the vents removed completely though
