Help Bumper removal allignment issue
Bumper removal allignment issue
So yesterday I got a shop that specializes in opening up headlight enclosures, using heat gun to overlay my amber reflector.
Anyways a few months ago I went to them to do some headlight modifications and they took off the bumper, and opened up the headlights, when i got the car back i noticed the right side of the bumper left of the headlight the join between the bumper and top panel was a little uneven. The left side of the bumper where it meets the top panel was nice and flush.

The right headlight was also slightly to the left when compared to the left side.
This time when I did my headlights again, I told them to if they could make sure the right side is aligned better since the last time they did it it was slightly lower than the top panel. The tech said it's pretty hard to match both sides.. etc...
Once I got it back, I noticed this time it's even worse, the gap is slightly wider to the point where u can see the tab below the crease, please check out the reference picture below with the 2 circles. Also the 2nd lower circle is slightly outwards and not flushed with the headlight.
Anyone know why the right side is always so messed up yet the left side is perfect? Can this be fixed? I know the rear bumper has some defects that a few other people commented about where the bumper is slightly misaligned on the left side but perfect on the right..
Also that tab.. what's it's function if it's suppose to pull it close the top panel how come it's not doing so
did they do any permanent damage
I was in a hurry that day so i didn't inspect properly sigh..

I can't see your pic but I think what you're describing can definitely be fixed.
Can you attach the picture?
You can 100% move your headlight when it's installed. I adjusted mine and others to get it to fix almost perfect. I think the shop just either don't know how or didn't want to spend the time doing it. Where's the shop and how good are they?

I've attached the pic, the headlights can be moved, but what about the bumper alignment? I have never removed the bumper before so i really dont know much about it.. although your input will help me sleep at night... hahaha Stillballin i'm glad im not alone...
Another question why cant i ever see ppls attachments it keeps saying i dont have perms =(
also the shop is a tint store, and are the only ones that dare to open up headlights and warranty on condensation... they are very friendly and have good CS.. they are so busy so they might not have time to do a perfect job but they do a good job...

you can't really see it in the pic... but the double circle part.. i can now see the metal tab thing... and previously i could not.. so the alignment is definitely off. I can push down on it and it will be flushed, but when i dont apply pressure it just goes back to unflushed.. same with the other circle i drew...

Saw your picture. Bumper alignment can also be moved. Are you local to So Cal?

I have the same issue, when i removed and re-installed my bumper a tiny little crease was showing, it just doesn't fit flush anymore but i don't find it an issue, as long all the clips and bolts are attached you got nothing to worry about.
yea, try re-adjusting the clip and bolt in there. Refer to the DIY headlight removal writeup for details.

okay, I think I will just wait for the next time i go there to do my batmobile overlays and see if they can readjust. I'm not very comfortable with doing this myself +_+ and do not have the tools >.<
are both of your sides like this or just one?
