Go to harbor freight and buy a small paint gun for 20 bucks. I have used mine many times for DIY projects. Much better than a rattle can.

 

Anyone in socal have a recommended shop I can go to?

I did mine glossy BO. I sanded with 3 different grits of paper, thoroughly primed it with 3 coats, 3 or 4 coats of black, 3 coats if clear. I let it cure for 3 days. I got rock chips within 3 days. It looked perfectly smooth at first, but now seems to lack gloss and evenness. I will take it off soon and have it professionally done.

 

i'm thinking about calling some body shops to paint my grill, glossy black, to match BO and leave top bottom chrome.. should i tell them i want it profesionally sprayed so that it's glossy black? Do i need to tell them to sand, primer, spray, clear etc...

 

You can find out what they do and what their process is, what paint they use.....etc. When I was searching for shops, I had a spare part for them to give me a sample of their work so I can see what it's going to look like before they work on my real parts.

Yes, it's very easy to remove the grill, there's no reason why anyone should pay for that.

Or you can give it me to have it painted.
