is there a huge difference in visibility between 8000k and 6000k in terms of visibility? i know that there is a decrease, but how significant is it?
i really do like a white appearance with a tint of blue....
also, i see that Philips sells the 6000k replacement bulbs for significantly more than the 8000k bulb, which can be seen in the link below

I have 8000k on my G right now and they look great!!! I did have 6000k before and there is a slight difference between the two. You can notice a little bit of visibility loss with the 8000k but its not very much.
i know a lot of people think 8000k is rice, but do the 6000k have a noticeable bluish tint?
i think it depends on the bulbs. I have had a couple of pairs of 6000k bulbs. one seemed smurfy blue and my light output was wack. and the second set i got where a more of pure white with a hint of blue around the edges, and the light output was awesome
if you are doing this for show then knock yourself out with whichever color temp you want, however if you want some show without losing much output then I would suggest keeping it under 6000K
I personally had Philips 5000K (85122CM) and they were absolutely amazing! However upon reverting back to 4300K, it was muuch brighter and just made sense to keep it that way.

Because Phillips doesn't make the 8000k bulb. Phillips only makes at max the 6000k. The 8k is a Japanese made bulb. The 6k is German.
how about if you put PIAA led city lights, with autolumination xenon h1 fog lights? also, combined with an hid upgrade from 4300k to 6000k on the headlights.
will the leds on the city lights still burn out?

^ With PIAA city lights that are made for the headlight housing, i think they should be fine.
I don't want to make a new thread but i have a question dealing with hid comparisons.
I was comparing my factory HID's with 6000k philips to a friends aftermarket civic si HID kit, and his 8000k is SIGNIFICANTLY brighter than mine is! Is it because our factory cars use a lower wattage, and is it possible to bump it up?
Aftermarket HID kits for our car, that use 35 or 50 watt ballasts?

I wouldn't bother with H1 Bulbs, if you want to get the 6000k, 8000k look, I tried piaa spark blue 8000k H1 and piaa 6000k h1s.... 1st one was purple, 2nd one... yellow/purple. It seems the reflector on the fogs might be changing the colour. Either that or the piaa bulbs are defective (which i doubt another person experienced the same thing).
I suggest go for yellow fogs, at least those will be functional.. or just leave it stock and don't turn them on.. unless you want to go aftermarket HID and blind ppl.. but have matching lok
However U won't be able to do ironman and your parking LEDs will probably burn out from the heat...

Has anyone done 8000K headlights, blue LED parking lights, and 3000K HID fog light conversion? I'd like to see how it looks. Granted the blue LED parking light and 3000K fog would drown the other out, but luckily the fog lights can be turned off
