Exactly chase, the bi-xenon is an electro-mechanical flap that changes the beam pattern for high (allows more light). I design these (usually I do tail lamp design though).

I stand corrected. I basically just meant that our bi-xenon headlights WERE HID. Should have thought my way through my post. My bad.
