reclining seat problem

reclining seat problem

soo i got into my car one day and tried to recline my seat forward and then back just for the hell of it nd once it reached a certain point it would stop nd just make this clicking noise like soemthing is wrong with the motor or gears. so for the past 2 days ive been sitting really upright until i brung it to infiniti today to check it out. has anyone else had this problem?

Nope. I entered my setting in and haven't messed with it since then. It's either a factory defect or it makes that noise to let you know it can't go further and you need to stop.

sooo i talked to the dealer today and it is something wrong with the gears and tracks and they have to order the parts. they said its not a common problem with this car. and they got my baby til tuesday =(

yup id say this is 1 of the first times ive heard this. things break but at least its covered.

well if its not reclining fully like it should, isnt it already broken...?

Seat

I know this thread is old but I know exactly what it is. Unzip back, unbolt seat back ,then unbolt two more bolts on side the motor is on. Remove motor. Now, remove 3 small screws and take motor cover off. You will now see the two plastic gears are stripped causing the noise. So, the good thing is, you can go to a junkyard and get one the same size and replace the gears.

Im having the same issue with my seat. Does any one know how I could fix this myself?
