Anyone know if there's a kit for under hood lighting? like a lighting kit for the hood of the car, so when the hood is open the lights are showing the engine? I'm just curious

 

im sure you could make one yourself. go get some neon tubes or leds and wire it up. itll prob be a first

 

If I knew how I'd totally do it (anybody wanna do a DIY for us?). Considering how much technology goes into cars nowadays, I've always thought it is silly for the car manufacturers to not put a light on the underside of the hood.

 

shouldnt be too hard, maybe 30 or so led's lined up under the hood?

 

ask the guy who made those stage LED lights for his license plate.
maybe he can wire some up.

 

Actually, all I really need to know is which wire is live all the time (so it gives power even when the car isn't on), and then it's a matter of running that out to something like a momentary switch mounted just in the right place under the hood so that it'll automatically turn on the lights when the hood is opened.
