My dealer was not able to fix the problem even after 2 tries. Is the problem mainly due to broken welds in the A-pillar? I just wish there is a TSB for this. I only have 5k on the car.

That sucks... It took 3 visits before they finally found it for me. A total of 13 business days.

According to the Service Manager it was deep in the dash area. But this was what they said after the first 3 days. Still took them 10 more days to find.

Just so you know, the creak is gone but it left in its place a squeak from the roof liner as though it does not fit anymore and an awful rattle from the moonroof sunshade.

Perhaps yours is stil not bad enough. Give it a while and take it in later. I took mine in at 13K (KM).

What was the resolution on this? I have a snapping sound when the car is on uneven surfaces like a driveway or making a uturn. To me it sounds like it comes from the suspension underneath your car not the moonroof which I do have on my car. Can anyone clarify the issue? Mine is uneven road causing snapping under car. Possibly there are two issues.

I had the busted welds in the A-pillar and the squeak was only when going over uneven surfaces. Especially backing out of my driveway (which sits on a small hill) to the street. Happened with less than 500 miles on the car. They fixed the welds under warranty. It took a week. And no squeak since.

creak when hitting bumps

Helllo all,

Interesting article, i heard this odd creak-crack sound when hitting a hard bump on the left side or angling the car like folks on here described when flexing the body.

To me it sounded like it was comming from the windshield, kinda sounded like a chunk of ice was on the windshield and i went over a bump.... (for those of us in winter states)

I was going to take it in, but seems almost like its not as bad as when I first got the car. Hopefully this thing doesn't end up to be full of rattles, its the most money i ever spent on the car, and really love driving it!

I am going to give it a few more weeks and see how it goes, it only has 500k on it, and definately have alot of warranty left. I don't want someone ripping apart my new car already only to get more rattles.

thanks for all the posts!

Well boys, I just ran across all these posts. Thought I would drop my 2 cents in the hat. I had the same problem with the a-pillar & spot welds. Not something i was willing to live with so Infiniti bought back the car w/less than 1000 miles. Stick to your guns & they will be more inclined to eliminate the issue with future models.

Wow - I am having the same issue... sounds like it's almost coming from the windshield though... I may be wrong though...

I am definitely going to take mine in... it doesn't sound safe...

dmfitz82 you'll have to let me know what you find out with yours?

my noise has gone away some, so going to wait a bit on it. Curious to see what they tell you.

thanks!

I'm gonna have to take my 08 G35x in for a creaking noise coming from the A pillar at where the inside cloth seams meet at about 10oclock at your head. It is so annoying and I hope it doesn't take a week to fix. My car has less than 3000 miles on it and I noticed it at about 1500.

I was talking to my kids dentist yesterday, he had the same issue with his coupe, the dealer kept the car for 10 days and rewelded parts of the roof.
I have not had this issue with mine yet.
Is there a common build date range for this issue?

They might not know what is going on with it. Either way, it should be researched and fixed along with an issued TSB.

I wonder if 09 sunrooves are doing this. Mine does it on spirited cornering and up and down steep driveways on such when I take it on an angle.
