i wasnt sure if getting it disconnected was just a temporary solution or if they actually did replace the entire rear deck or something like that.

could be temporary or permanent... depending if it bothers you that much to have the deck replaced or not... if you have tints and cant see the 3rd brake light IMO i wouldnt change it if you cant see it

I'm assuming you can have both connected, yes? Then the person behind you SHOULD know you've stopped or are stopping. I had some mentally deficient teenager (nothing against teenagers) run into the back of my car as I was stopped at a light minding my own business. She was driving and studying for her SAT at the same time. All it did was left three little "crimp" marks in the lower bumper. Can't even see it. Kept me from having to kill her. Oh yeah, and Tundra, it does look nice.

Same thing happend to me some 19 year old was blabbing away on his phone and boom nailed me from behind. Worst part his mom comes to the accident seen and starts throwing a fit because I stopped abruptly according to him. I was actually completely stopped for several seconds, and was in the middle of prgramming my new phone to bluetooth. As many of you know it takes a good 5-10 seconds to get to that screen. Minor damage but still $900+ accident.
