Just wondering if it was just me or does anybody else wish their steering wheel would go lower than it does. IMO it needs to!

 

I thought so too when I first got my car, I've since adjusted. Just like you will learn the lean technique to kind of see out the blind spot.

 

You know you can adjust it right?

 

I wish the do0r was lower or the armrest was higher, so I can lean my left arm on something when driving.

 

My arm falls asleep if I put my arm on the window sil.

 

yea the window sil is too high !!

 

The wheel does move up and down if you didn't know already, also I think it goes low enough.

I have always had a problem with the arm rest height on my door. The arm rest is too low to hold the wheels. and the window sill makes my arm sit in a weird position.

liscmad, I agree with you 100%. The wheel does not go low enough, even adjusted at the lowest position. For most people it's probably not an issue. Since I am so tall (6'3") and have to completely lower the driver's seat to the floor so I don't bump my head on the roof, it makes the wheel seem higher. The only way I've found to compensate are to do 3 things:

1 - Don't put the seat all the way to the floor. Find a happy medium. The higher the seat, the lower the steering wheel will seem.

2 - Move the seat in toward the wheel a little more than you normally would. This way, you can move the wheel away from you slightly, effectively lowering it a little bit (because the cluster is at an angle).

3 - Move the wheel in a bit (see #2).

This helped me, and I've found a relatively comfortable driving position. Not 100% ideal, but close enough.

 

Maybe I just don't understand because I'm 5'10'', but the power telescoping wheel/gauge cluster pretty much lets you have it set up at any height and angle.

 

yea i wish it went a bit lower. i noticed that the first time i sat in the demo g37 they had at the dealer

i'm used to the steering wheel being low. every car i get in, i put the wheel as low as it goes
