Hood Pins ?

Hey guys i recently bought and installed the Seibon oem cf hood. I've driven on the freeway a few times now going around 75 mph and I've seen the hood move up and down. I know our cars have one main latch in the center and additionally two locking pins on the side of the hood. Do you think this should be enough to hold the cf hood down? Or should i still go ahead and get the pins? Thanks guys.

My installer took off the spring on the latch because it wouldn't sit flush against the bumper. So now it sits pretty snug on there, but during higher speeds I am sure I've seen the hood move. So you guys don't have any plans for hood pins then I assume?

If you want to buy me a set, i'll put them on, (JK). No not really any plans on doing them. However they do look good though. I have seen a few cars with them and they look good. I have even seen people with a pin setup for there cf trunks. Not for mine though, I'm gonna put it on just like the factory one. Well let use know what you decide on!!!!!

Yah I know. I'm putting my CF trunk on with the hinges, no hoodpins. It looked actually quite retarted in all honesty. Well good luck with your hood pin adventure. I never wanted to put hood pins on mine cause I think they will rattle eventually. But maybe it's just me you know

when you install a carbon hood it is recommended that you do install hood pins. while you dont HAVE to. it is much smarter to do so. when i get my hood i am putting the Top secret aero locks

Well glad your hood fits good. My hood fits pretty well also, but when I put my CF trunk on this weekend I want to see if I can adjust it a little more.

I think one major issue with Seibon is since their products are fiber glass (overlaid with a thin strip of carbonfiber), so basically a fiberglass, they dont usually fit right.
I drove a sport for about a week from Infinti with a seibon hood and decklid on and the hood popped unlatched while i was on the freeway. I freaked out. lol. So I pull over and try to push it back down and presto...it cracked. Not only did it crack, it wouldnt latch back up...so I had to go into a nearby Home Depo, buy some painters tape and seal it all the way around so I could get back. I was so embarassed.
I'm not sure if anyone makes a true carbon fiber hood for the G37 yet but I do recommend hood pins no matter what.
As for the spoiler, the problems I ran into is it has no mounting brackets and it only fits the decklids with the rear brake light in the spoiler. So if you dont have that combination, you're outta luck. Thats cos you have to take out the third brake light from the OEM spoiler and mount it to the Seibon one, then you mount that spoiler to the decklid by double sided tape because it doesnt have bolts.
