Glad to see someone's working on it. I was going to see how I could customize something use the FX or M fog light kits.

I am contemplating posting an artist mockup of the modification I am working on...Ultimately, I will manufacturer these with a local company into kits that will be plug and play with the existing foglight wiring - hopefully little to no cutting of factory wiring... the existing fog will just no longer work to avoid overloading the BCM. If you are interested in seeing the artist mockup (it's not the best mockup ever done) let me know and I will post it. I hope to have a website up shortly, likely via eBay.

Mockup....Foglights for G37.

This is my design and is 90% of the way through the prototype process... I can likely have them ready for sale in small quantities in June. They are NOT functional for foglight purposes, but are GREAT in the looks department. If you are interested in this modification, please PM me so I can get an idea of initial interest and order the right number of parts... the greater the response, the better the pricing (qty discounts and all).

Enjoy!

Ok so you're thinking of punching some holes on the existing faux brake vent covers and putting LEDs on there? So that would mean you're going for the looks but they wouldn't work very well as true fog lights, correct?

I haven't decided if I'm using the faux covers or not, as yet. There is a possibility that I will have a completely new housing manufactured, just depends upon how it goes together. The LED's will be custom, the housing is possibly custom, and the wiring harness will allow the unit to be "plug and play" into the existing foglight system (using the existing foglight switch). It will be a splice into the existing sytem (possibly a tap, if I can get a tap to work reliably so there's no cutting).

As for install, just depends on how handy you are - you will have to remove the rock guard to get to the bottom 2 screws on each mount. As for the wiring, again, that's a pretty easy tap or splice.

They will be bright, drawing only 200ma's per side, which is significantly less than the OEM foglight, HOWEVER, they will not be as bright and cannot be used as a fog replacement. Technically, they will have to be "for off road use only" and it will be owner choice on whether to use while actually driving...

As for cost, I think initial estimates are $450-$500 for the set. The issue is going to be the wiring harness - it's a darn expensive little bugger to manufacture.

So whats eh about this? The mockup sucks, I agree. Happy to take suggestions. The cost is mostly from the wiring harness so you minimize the chance of blowing up the BCM (which is VERY expensive to replace) and the OEM faux vents. If the latter doesnt work out, the cost may go down some. As for the A/S5 references, thats what gave me the idea. I didnt want some run of the mill fog in there, but something different.
