Anyone remove the "INFINITI" and "G37S" lettering from the trunk lid?

Put some 20's on today and was thinking about removing all the lettering on the trunk lid the next time the car cooks out in the sun a bit

The threads about "weak paint" are making me think however

I have done this in the past on my former cars, S2000 and GTV6 Tiburon pretty easily with plain dental floss

TIA for any advice

Eddie

Yep, I did it a couple months ago. It's really simple. Here's the steps I posted in another thread, also UNV-IT46 has a debadging thread DIY section if you want pictures.

-Fishing line
-Goo gone sprayed directly onto the remaining adhesive
-Let sit for 5 minutes
-Rub adhesive lightly with your fingers (towels and rubbing too much with a lot of pressure will remove the clear coat)
-Wash the area (or entire car, up to you)
-Wax the areas that were covered by the badges.

Debadge ?s

3 weeks into my latest love affair, so far tint, clear bra, spolier, and 20's

I'm now very strongly considering taking the rear badges off as I have done with a couple of other black beauties, my former S2000 and GTV6 Tiburon

I assume some here have done this?

What did you use to get this done on yours, (I simply used dental floss on my S2000 and Tiburon - easy on the Tib, not so on the S)?

Also, did you take the logo emblem off in addition to the INFINITI and G37S?

If so, are there holes?

I will likely leave the "logo" on in any case, just chcking on that

Many thanks for your replies

Eddie

i havent done mines but there are no holes, just glue holding it together, so just take dental floss and work it from there. if i would have taken it off, i would take the "infiniti" and g37s off.

What color is your car? I've only seen paint posts about black.. I removed the INFINItI and G35 off my G35, looked a lot cleaner but I like the G37S on my new car so not going to remove anything. Merged your two threads together.

Thanks - my ride is a Black w/ Black

I have to apologize for not searching for the above thread that refrences the DIY - I'm still navigating my way around

Hopefully I can take some pics of the new rims and post over the weekend - I'm liking the look a lot

I'm an amp/sub and a debadge from being there

Eddie

I have a heat gun that I use for my hockey sticks, would that be too hot to de-badge?

If you keep it too close, most likely yeah it'll be too much. You don't really need to heat it up though, just go straight to the fishing line since the adhesive is still kinda new. If you decided to debadge after a couple years though, that would be a different story and a heat source would help out a lot.

I removed all but the G37S emblems. Still deciding on that issue. But removing the other letters is defiantly much cleaner look.
