Question about window tint CA folks

I am the ripe full old age of 38. When I was 18-25 I got pulled over all the time for tint on my front windows (driver and passenger windows) The very last time I got pulled over I was 25 and the cop made me pull it off in his face. I then got to go home and wash the residue off of my windows. After that I gave up on tinting the front windows even though I still see people do it, I just ignore it and keep rolling. That was when I lived in the Bay Area. I now reside in Moreno Valley where it has reached 115 on occasion! I still see people with the front windows tinted and I ask them if they get bothered and they tell me no! Is it a socal thing? Because I am getting ready to pick up my new G and I would really love to tint front and rear but I don't want to stir up the old beast and start getting pulled over again. What do you folks think? I have a very nice TTZ32 and I die in the summer around here with the sun beaming in on my forearm all the time! Let alone cooking my legs from time to time! Should I go for it?

go for it! it's nothing but a 10 dollar fix it ticket if you get stopped here in Ca. and if you go with something that's not super dark your chances of getting pulled over are slimmer, avoid limo tint if you can.

Some tint shops will remove it for free if you get a ticket (they know you'll be back).

I think if you do 30% or 25%, it should be fine. 20% is pretty dark, IMO

The current law allows an officer to stop your vehicle if it has tint (I forget the % but it is super light) on the driver or passenger front door windows. it is only an equipment ticket, and when repaired costs $10. The reality of it is most officers probably will not waste the time or even have the time to waste. You do not have to remove it in front of the officer. All he can do is give you a ticket. Let the tint shop take it off professionally. Most will also give you a deal to reapply it.
