Clear Bra with Full Hood

Just picked up my G37 after the clear bra was installed. I hope it's something I don't regret. I did the full hood, partial fenders up to the lights, mirrors, door handle cups, and the lights themselves. Looks good right now but.....Let's see in 5 years. Can't wait to start washing and waxing it. Supposed to wait at least 24 hours before any water on it and then 5 days before a good wash and wax. Until then, it's a duster and Zaino 6.

Got mine done at Premium auto in Fremont, CA. Nice people and they seemed to know what they were doing. That place was full of exotic cars. I was almost embarrased to drive in their garage. Not. I think my car was just as good looking as the rest. I love my G37.

Ciao!

u257993, how's it with whole hood? i'm thinking about getting whole hood done too. did they say anything about color not fading with rest of the body of the car in long run?

Cost was $1228 out the door with taxes and all. It was 755 for the basic covering but I chose the full hood for 375 more and the door cups behind the handles for 40 more.

Premium guaranteed against fading, discoloration, and peeling for the life of the car. While not as silky smooth looking as the real hood, they say it will improve over time espcially as I begin to wash and wax with Zaino. Apparently, exotic cars have it done all the time and they even have the full body covered to include roof, trunk and sides. That must be hella expensive.

i know clear bra is very helpful, my cuzin's 06 g had it and it never faded or anything...i got the full bumper, fenders, mirrors, headlights, and hood for $550 (friend and cousin knew the guy)
i didn't get the whole hood b/c my tint guy said the whole hood cost $1000? i think he was bsing. if you're able to get the whole hood done, then do it! mine was 24" on the hood and when up close or certain light/angle...i can see the line running through the hood,

I thought all that was recommended was 24" on the hood. If you notice the only part of the hood that gets messed up from rocks and stuff is about the first 24".

Are you talking about "Premier" ( www.premiermobilegroup.com )? If so, you got it from the best.

I'm kind of picky and I know I'll hate the line across my hood even though everyone says you won't notice it. Why chance it? I'm taking it to Steve Perez @ Clear Tech Pro on Memorial.

I got it from Premier as well. Good bunch of guys and after 5000 miles, I'm very glad I got it done. One part that I wish I got done are the door sills. Mine got all sorts of crap kicked up from the front tires and now the chips are pretty noticeable from about 2 feet away. Oh well

be glad you got the whole hood done. I am. a while ago, a truck dropped gravel on the road and one particular rock (yes, I saw this one coming) flying in like a ufo. It skipped once on my hood and ended up smacking my windshield and cracking my windshield. Nothing happened to my hood (except seeing a little scuff on my hood), but my windshield costed me $900 (well, it costed me $100 for the deductible from my insurance company). When I saw the price to replace the windhsield, it took my breath away! It seems car parts are getting more and more expensive.

OH MY GOD DO NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!

I had my whole hood clear braed 5 years ago and it's probably the worst mistake I made on my G35 Coupe. After the 3M film gets scratched up (which it will, I guarantee it) your hood will look like complete crap. Then people will charge you $300 to get that sh;t removed from your hood or spend the next 12 hours in your garage with heat gun and frigging Goo Be Gone.

DON'T DO IT PLEASE. If anyone need prof I will post a pic of my hood that used to look like crap until I peeled off half of it. (which took me about 8.5 hours and change) Now my hood only looks halfway crappy instead of completely crappy.
