Right, if all you are talking about is the reception quality. However, when you combine a metallic tint with the embedded rear window and rear window defogger, you create a larger magnetic field which affects other transmissions/receptions. Generally, this only happens when the embedded wires are conducting a current, but unless you take moving measurements, you'll never really know when it is happening.

Also, ceramic is superior to metallic. Why, after spending $40K on the car, can't you spend $50 more for ceramic tint?
