G37 Driver Floor Mat Anchor Problem ?

I know this is not a big deal but is anyone else having a problem with the G37 driver side floor mat coming off anchoring peg and pushing up into the pedals? It happens every time I get into my car. I asked the dealership about it and they said no part is missing on my car and they believe it may be a safety issue. Before I write a letter, I would like to know if the issue is isolated or widespread.

Mine did for the first week or so but lately it has stayed on pretty good. My old car had a much more substantial metal peg that held the mat in place... seems like the G37 peg is a little to small. I read on here somewere that someone said there is some sort of clip that can go on the top of the peg to prevent the mat from coming up, but I don't have these on my car.

Angry Tired of it!

Seems like I have to reset the mat on the peg every time I drive the car. Even my 95 mustang had a barb on the mat peg to keep it in place. What's up with this?

Definately a problem. I posted the same issue on this forum several weeks ago. Not a big deal but definately irritating. One member suggested wrapping a paperclip around the post to act as a a clip or psuedo-cotter pin.

Yeah, it buches up on the gas pedal pretty good at times, enough that I always look down there when I get in to see if it's sitting properly. I think the mat is just too long in conjuntion to where they put the retainer cut-out.

It has not happened to me, but then again i prance in and outta my g37 like a ballerina and don't really pivot or anchor my legs/feet on the floor as im gettin out. Also I got a universal floor mat designed for the Lexus IS that fits my G37S really well so I have that laid over the Infiniti Mats for added protection. Maybe that's makin a difference too. Who knows.

Cotter pin it in there with a piece of bent paperclip. Someone recommended it in a similar thread here and it works great.

Safety issue? What does it do? Stop the engine from coming into the cabin during a frontal crash? lol I'm telling ya, these dealer people are something...
