08 Projectors

Any idea about the lenses on them? Clear or still fresnel ones from 06-07? Hopefully they will have more color in the cutoff compared to before.

Fresnel without a doubt. There actually arent any cars anymore with clear lenses, they have all moved away from clear lenses and switched to fresnel. Even the TSX and S2K have fresnels now, too many people complained about the flickering and sharp cutoffs blinding old people. Soon, clear lenses will be hard to come by.

BMW's aren't clear anymore either... Mine are mostly clear, but the center portion of the lense is frosted.

Why is clear preferable over fresnel? Does it produce brighter light or a cleaner cut off (thereby allowing the lights to be aimed higher and still not blind anyone)?

Or are we just trying to make them look like early days of HID? If so, why?

I was hoping for a sharper (more violet) cutoff line. It was disappointing to realize it wasn't going to happen....

Saw one on the road the other night. Very nice. The color of the light was very nice (similar to the color of Lexus's new license plate lights). As far as the light being too bright. I didn't think so. Within 20 feet (at night with the lights on) you can clearly see all 3 LEDs inside each housing. This looks especially cool, but get further away and the 3 blend into one light which lights everything up nicely. Honestly, I think its going to be the future of headlights.
