No help for OP, but I have rear window tint and atrocious XM reception to the point I've never bothered using it. I'd lose signal near tall buildings or driving next to semi trailers.

Many have complained of poor XM reception. I never used it, so... But, in that case, the window tint would have zero effect on the XM SAT radio reception. The XM antenna is in the "shark fin" on the roof.
