Ecu swap
I don't see my specific question answered in past posts, so here goes.
I've got a 2008 G37 coupe 5speed auto.
It has a bad BCM and not enough memory in the ECM to run full ecutec.
So I'm looking at a used ECM and BCM forom a 2011 G.I need to know if that ECM cares which transmission is attached. If not, great!
if so, can it be tuned to be happy with the five speed using ecutec?

That's the safe answer
I need someone to chime in who knows what's up (dealership answer)
If I had the same exact part number, it would be the same exact ECU with the same too little memory, right?

Yeah I'd like a newer ECU as well so I could run EcuTek instead of UpRev that I'm currently running. I feel like I came across someone trying to do this, did you try searching on here? Let me know how the project goes.
