The GROM VLine VL2 and VLite VT2 systems for Nissan and Infiniti vehicles use the microphone and the USB that comes with the system. You can still use the factory USB retention cable to integrate the factory USB for CarPlay and Android Auto via VLine VL2 or VLite VT2. Check here:

For the past year I have been using the stock aux/usb system instead of Bluetooth as it’s always unreliable. Would the VL2 or the VLite upgrade the usb reliability? I’m at a point now where I don’t need anything fancy I just want to play music off my phone.

also if you have another group buy or holiday sale please post

For just the phone we recommend the GROM VLite VT2 system:
https://gromaudio.com/store/vlite/grom-vt2-nis9.html
It supports CarPlay and Android Auto, and you can integrate your smartphone for the media, messages, and calls (Calls for CarPlay only).

We will have the next group buy order in early November. If you would like to join it, send us a private message with your name and email. or contact us via web form at https://gromaudio.com/support.html We will add you to the list.

For NIS9VL2 VLine model, you enter the VLine mode by entering the USB mode of your stereo. In this vehicle, the VLine emulates the USB source. Factory USB will no longer be accessible, however you can use the VLine USB ports for the same functionality.

In addition, you can connect the factory USB port to the VLine for CarPlay / Android Auto via USB with this USB retention cable:

Hi all, and Happy New Year!

We are running the next group order for the VLine VL2 and VLite VT2 for CarPlay / Android Auto integration to Infiniti and Nissan factory car stereo. The next group order starts today, January 11th and run until January 19th. The product will ship at the end of January or early February.

The discount will be $120 off the VLine VL2 system and $70 off the VLite VT2 system. Both systems support wireless CarPlay and Android Auto integration into the factory Infiniti and Nissan stereo. With the GROM VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system, you do not need to replace your factory stereo. The GROM systems use already existing car stereos, displays, and steering wheel controls to use and operate CarPlay and Android Auto in your vehicle. All important factory features, such as a backup camera and FM radio, will keep working.

If you want to join the group, send us a private message with your email address via this web forum. We will add you to the group.

Or you can send the request to join the group via the web form at https://gromaudio.com/support.html

We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Some of the frequently asked questions are:

1. What is the difference between GROM VLine VL2 and VLite VT2?
The GROM VLine VL2 offers wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a stand-alone Android interface that you can use to download almost any app from the Google Play store to use in your car. The GROM VLite VT2 system is for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto only.

2. Can I install the system myself?
Yes, you can install the system if you have some technical ability. You will need to disassemble the portion of the dashboard to connect the system to the back of the stereo and display and install the microphone and GPS antenna. We have plenty of install videos on our website: https://gromaudio.com/installs/index.html
Otherwise, the local car stereo shop in your area should be able to help you with the installation.

The GROM VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 systems come with 30 days return for the refund period and 18-month warranty.

To join the group, send us the request via the web form at https://gromaudio.com/support.html or PM us your email address, and we will add you to the group list.

Hi,
I have the VLite and was wondering if you had any advice to help with the static noise I'm getting.
Its only when I'm connected to the Grom. My radio doesn't have the static.

The first step would be to connect the system to the internet and run the firmware and software update. Here is the how-to video:
The video is for VLine VL2, but the process is similar to that of the VLite VT2 system.

If that will not help, or you will need help updating the firmware, please contact our technical team at https://gromaudio.com/support.html. We will help!
