My 2014 Q60s steering wheel control buttons dont work when i plug my iphone into the usb thats inside the arm rest. the phone connects then music will play and then i can change the songs through the steering wheel or the buttons on the dash, until it just stops. i dont know if this is a common error or if this is just something wrong with mine. its not that big a deal, but it gets annoying when i'm driving and the song just gets stuck and i have to change the source until it goes back to the iphone which then lets the steering wheel controls work again. If anyone has a answer for this or know about this issue please let me know

 

It’s normal. That’s why I burn my own CDs, would recommend it to you as well.

 

I can't tell you if that's normal because I don't use that USB. I just use Bluetooth connection. But I hear the USB thing is for apple music only? Maybe I'm mistaken, and even though I'm not too sure when I say this.. But I don't think it's normal. Especially for a 2014. That has better technology than the 2013- g37's

 

It is not normal and I can 99.9i% guarantee you it is a Apple/iPhone issue. I use a 128gb thumb drive with the USB for audio/video and have never had a issue with the steering wheel controls freezing up (2014 headunit).

More likely than not it is the iPhone freezing up causing the problem. Have you recently updated the software on the phone? Every time Apple updates one thing they usually break another (one of many reasons I dumped Apple and their iGarbage).

 

What ios version are you running
