'09 G37s Vert, so you know the problem with streaming BT audio from an Android phone.
Has anyone tried just directly wiring a USB port into the center console, using the AUX circuit?

Seems like it would be pretty easy for someone who installs stereo systems.

Thought about that, but don't want to plug phone in inside the console.
With the USB port, I could use thumb drives like I do in my SS.

I do not think your 2009 headunit will able be to access the contents of a USB thumbdrive. You might be able to physically wire in a USB port, but the software might not be there for it to function.

I'm in an '09 coupe with the OEM USB port in the center console (can't stream music through it though). I use it to power a bluetooth receiver (
Amazon Amazon
) and plug that into the RCAs with an audio jack>RCA cable. Works well for me, bluetooth connects automatically, but I don't get any song info on the screen and I have to control everything (skip, pause, etc) through my phone. My phone still connects to the stock system for calls, so those controls all still work

Good to know that one works. I expect to control everything from the phone anyway, so that is not a deal-breaker.
I just went ahead and bought some Compact Flash cards to load up with different genres to keep in the car for now.
4GB CF card beats the dang MP3 CDs anyway..

Since most have plenty of SD cards and Mico SD cards. Has anyone tried a CF to sd adapter?

If you are looking to add the USB port into G37 2009 without navigation, you can get GROM-USB3 model, for factory looking integration, integrated controls with car stereo and steering wheel, and advanced browsing. Check here:
