Clock Current

Hello,

I am working on a side project, and need a little help. I bought a spare analog clock from a G body style. I have not studied the wiring harness, however, it appears that the connector only has 4 wires. 2 positive and negative i am assuming that power the clock, and 2 power and negative that i am assuming power the back light for the clock. My question is do these wires go straight to the battery? Is there any circuity in the clock that is current limiting? I would like to know if there is a max current the clock takes before i plug 12 volts to it and blow it up.
any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,\

If no one has the answer...

I would suggest you look at the wiring diagram for the clock circuit... My guess would be that looking at the diagram will tell you what you need to know.

I agree the wiring diagram would be the ideal spot, however, i don't have that..i was hoping somebody would know...obviously i should take the safe route and put a resistor from the power source to the clock, however, i need to know what the working level current is so that i can pick out my resistor accordingly...
