Remote Start issues

Hey all, I went ahead and had a remote start installed at a reputable audio shop but I'm having issues with it. The shop installed the DS3 kit and Viper SmartStart which included the 3x lock to start. Well everything works great except the 3x lock to start. My range on my remote has gone to hell, if you don't hit the lock button 3x at the perfect interval it'll lock you out, and the only times I've been able to really get it to work is from next to the car which is useless. Has anyone had these problems and knew how to fix it? Thanks everyone!

Have you tried replacing the battery in the remote?

Does that system require anything plugged in to the OBD2 port for data gathering?

When i leave my OBD2 bluetooth dongle i use for the torque app plugged in, my remote only works when I'm right by the car. I dont understand the mechanism by which the range is reduced, but try unplugging anything in the port and test the remote range. If that seems to be the issue, return to the shop and see what solutions are offered. You may need an aftermarket remote or antenna
