Question First post! Do I NEED the shark fin antenna?

I just picked up a 2013 G37xS coupe and am looking to get the roof blacked out. I'm a minimalist and was wondering if I could get rid of the shark fin antenna and leave it off?

(if it's required for GPS, I'll leave it on, but satellite radio doesn't matter to me)

I think the GPS antenna is under the dash. So mod the SAT antenna away.

lol. conflicting answers. great. can I get a confirm from a 3rd? I tried to look into it, and the G35 ones are in the dash like Mr_Mer stated, but that could've changed for the G37?

The shark fin is for the SAT radio only. The GPS antenna is mounted under the dashboard as per my 2008 Coupe.
