New Solution for Connecting Android to 09 Bose/NAV and Use Steerng Wheel Contr

So I have tried many different combinations of music players and Bluetooth adapters and none, until now have let me use my android phone AND use the steering wheel controls.

I just purchased and installed (plug and play) the CarPro Bluetooth adapter which connects to the iPod cable and allows you to use any Bluetooth enabled phone to play and control your music. Sound quality is excellent - as good as the cable connection was to the Aux output for my android or the iPod connector for my iPhone.

All track info works for the iPhone (I'm using an older Iphone 4)
When connected to my LG V20, I can control the music but track info does not show up on the screen.

Links: (NOTE: You need to purchase the one for the BMW/Mini)
Bluetooth Adapter $80.00
Amazon Amazon

Power Adapter $19.00 (Required for most 09's)
Amazon Amazon

Not a bad solution for just under $100.00

I had previously tried several other Bluetooth "dongles" connected to the AUX inputs with varying degrees of success but none allowed control via the steering wheel controls and all had subpar sound quality.

Once paired, it will connect to my phone automatically and launch my default music player. (Currently Amazon Prime Music) It controls the music fine but does not display track info.

It apparently does not control Pandora.

I can unpair my android and then pair my iPhone and it will subsequently repair and launch the music player automatically.

So the car pro Bluetooth adapter doesn't power itself through the iPod connector cable?

No, not on the G37 iPod connector. Had the same issue with it not powering my phone as well. Apparently works on the G35 without the adapter.

I've read on some forums that some with the G37 do get power to it but its hit and miss. Not sure if Infiniti changed the cable design at some point.

Will this work for 08 and iPhone 7? Up until now, I don't think there has been a bluetooth, with steering controls solution and display info. I might fork over 100 bones for steering wheel control and display info...Whats the $18 part for?

@rgs3, according to their website, it should. Here is some more info I found there:

you will probably need the inline power adapter like I have as well.

Update:
So, I am a few weeks in after setting everything up and it works great! I am now using my android phone wirelessly and no longer need to use my old iPhone as my music player.

My phone connects seamlessly to my car and the CarPro and music quality is exceptional for a bluetooth device. Much better as the previous ones I have used and almost as good if I connect via aux jack with my headphone extension cord.

I have learned that the best way to get music to start when connecting is to either use the google android auto app on my phone to auto launch my music player when I get in my car or to use the IFTTT app to launch my music player of choice. Music will then start right up when you connect.

The only downside is that it does not display the song/track info for my android phone. It DOES, however, work fine with the iPhone. I talked to tech support and verified this and it is apparently an issue with android and may be addressed in future models.

It is GREAT to be able to use the steering wheel controls to control my android phone now!
