I recently purchased an Escort Redline radar detector for my 2011 G37S. I live in a province where all speed warning devices are illegal. I am hoping to hide the detector in a sun visor organizer.

Is it possible/advisable to tap into the power for the vanity light in the visor? It seems that the light isn't switched with ignition.

Should I run a wire down the a-pillar directly into the fuse box instead?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, especially if anyone has a guide or documentation. I've seen many people who have hardwired to the rear view mirror, but I'm afraid the detector would be too visible to law enforcement there.
