My lighter seems to have started to work intermittently.

When I start the car, my Valentine 1 goes through the power on process, then turns immediately off. Unplugging it and plugging it back in--same thing--powers on and cycles through the bands, then shuts off.

I tried it in my wife's car, and it works fine.

Any ideas on why it is shutting off right after it powers on?

 

Might check the ground and power connection on the power outlet itself

 

why don't you use the power outlet for your valentine1. the cigarette lighter outlet is not designed for the purpose powering your accessories. read your owners manual.
