Angry Audio rant.. lol

So I am frustrated. I can honestly say that I have expected more form the Bose system.. It sounds like crap... I had a better stock system in my Honda. I guess i was expecting too much.. lol
What I would really life to do is yank out the whole thing, but atlast I cannot, Bose w/navi, then other system go though it.. I mean I know it can be done, but I don't have the time or money.
I am going to add an amp, sub and updated rear speakers.. but omg running the power wire is a PITA (Pain in the ****)!!! Thanks for reading.. lol

OOH yeah... not to mention, the ipod doesnt work for more then 30 secs... the card reader reads the names, but wont play the music.. SMH, crappy system.. and yes I have tried resetting the system a couple times..

^^^ I am no audiophile so keep that in mind, but sometimes after work and heading home, i like to crank up but yes, the current bose disappoints me as well. My wife had a VW gli with their high end system and wow! quite a difference. now not necessarily expecting that from my G but a little louder would be nice. I have XM and forget cranking that up, my local radio comes across way louder...and downloaded tunes...no change.
I posted a thread regarding my 09 and how the sound considerably changed when i hooked up an old kindle via the aux inputs...no luck with my usb on the 11...

The Bose system is greatly improved by adding a powered sub, and using a rooted smartphone with the Viper4Android app to fix the crappy EQ the Bose amp applies.

The speakers actually sound good - it's the amp that ruins everything.

Ditto the powered sub comment. Added one in the trunk and it's great upgrade.

if you don't need to shake the neighborhood, the V4A app really fixes up the factory amp (EQ) and seriously improves the audio quality. i had planned on replacing the speakers, but now i don't see the need.

IMHO, the treble is terrible - harsh, but not crisp. a powered sub will take care of the bass. i used a sealed unit for tighter sound and accuracy (i listen to rock/metal/thrash). if you're more into hip-hop, etc., a ported enclosure might be better for a "boomier" sound.

I have a sealed box, from my old cars system. But i listen to almost all music.. i dont need a competition boom.. but some good bass would be nice.. and the rear door speakers are useless... i set the radio to rear only and it sounds hideous. Lol.. not really.. just not up to par with the fronts.
Im going to install all my stuff next weekend. So we shall see... I think i will do a before and after.. lol
Thanks for the info..

Not really... but it maybe... the front sounds good.. but there is no rear volume coming from the rear speakers or the sub.. i think if they had put a real sub in the back and turned up the rear speakers, it would be up to par..
I tried the drivers sound stage and its slightly better. But then it ruins it for the rest of the passangers.

i think it sounds awful, especially for a "premium" system, but YMMV. to clarify, the amp EQ is awful, the speakers are pretty good when they get a good signal.

you really want most of the sound from the front anyway. i learned that after having my fader pushed to the rear in my first car - it had nice Pioneer 6x9's in the back and crappy factory ones in the front.

"The speakers themselves should seem to disappear, replaced instead by a spatial arrangement of music sources, or soundstage. Although the front and rear speakers create the soundstage, it should seem to come from in front of you, filling the space from left to center to right."

Everyone hates Bose...
I will say that what we have in the G is much better then the Bose in the Corvette.
Sounded like azz in the Vette...

Funny you say that, I synced my work iPhone 5S to my car, it sounds louder and more clear than my Nexus6P with viper4Android. It doesn't have as much bass but it's clearly evident the audio processing is better on the iPhone. Weird..

i'm currently using an iPhone 5C in the car, and it's not better, IMHO, than my old smartphone with V4A.

with the HS Player app EQ tweaked on the iPhone its an improvement, but doesn't have the audio quality that V4A has.

i use the iPhone because the battery lasts longer than my old *** Android phone, and it also does the album art.
