Some love for Music Box!

I realize I'm probably in the minority here, but Music Box is one of my favorite features in my G. Like moving to a town that doesn't have a Wegmans, it's keeping me from considering a Q50 (for now). I use my G37X sedan as a work vehicle (sales) so I'm in the car a lot. I love that I don't have to keep a pile of CDs in the car, and file size seems to produce better fidelity than your average MP3. I think it's a brilliant feature; sad it's discontinued, but happy it's in mine. Anyone else?

I have it also. I think there is a choice of sample rates when you rip it. I did the highest.

Agreed- it remains a useful option and has been made all the more unique by succeeding technology. Keep the G and the music box!

What are CDs? 😕 It is odd that Infiniti updates and changes the audio inputs/ functionality so much

It's not that odd a decision when you consider that many people began keeping their entire music collection on their phones. MB obviously costs money to license and produce, so why spend money when all you need is add a way to connect those phones to the audio system?

I agree. But they seem to not be able to make their minds up. USB inputs have come and SD card readers, Bluetooth streaming is limited on some models, AUX inputs changing, and adding then dropping music box. Some brands have been consistent with a simple USB input and Bluetooth streaming. Just sayin

I think it's absurd that any luxury vehicle in 2012 doesn't include BT audio streaming, or at least have an aux input. You can get $25 head units that do that.

I use music box quite often and really like it.

Has anyone tried to burn an audio CD from iTunes and copy it into music box?
If so, did it pick up the song titles and artist?

I set mine up all at one time but honestly never use it. It is a nice feature though for sure

I bought a used ipod touch for $50 and put a bunch of songs on it and connect it thru the USB port in my 2011. You can choose songs a lot faster by actually using the ipod touch.

The car displays artist, title and album art.

You can always control it using the steering wheel buttons too.

If music box gave you the option of copying already ripped files, that would be nice. Considering it forces you to rip CDs, it's more or less useless. I have an iPod nano with all of the albums I want to have in their entirety, and steam everything else from Spotify.

I like the music box option too. I usually use my connected iPod but when I want to listen to several songs from the same CD- it's MB all the way.

I'm very content with the feature, too. First thing I did when I bought the car was fill it up with 100+ CD's worth of music. However, four years later and I just can't work up the effort to clean it out and start over. It takes a LOT of time to feed it CD's.

I also have an old 8g iPod that works just as well when plugged into the car. Actually, the interface is slightly different on the console screen... where if I hold down the scroll, it shifts into alphabetic mode. Don't know why the music box doesn't do that.

That made me LOL. I suspect few people here know that that means.

For people who don't... Wegmans is a grocery store that originated here in Rochester, NY, and is like no other supermarket you've ever seen. If you live where the only options are the typical Stop & Shop, Piggly Wiggly crap, there's just no way to explain how superior Wegmans is. We're very, very fortunate to have Wegmans.
