NAV screen/radio acting up.

Hey guys, long time reader here. First time posting.

I have an '08 G37 coupe. Here’s one for you.

Sunday after lunch, I was driving home. I then notice the little display screen (between the RPMs and MPH) changed. I normally have it display temperature but now it showed another one of the displayable options. I thought I may have accidently hit the button to change it, but then noticed my travel mileage reset to 0. I normally reset it every time I fill up on gas but you have to press and hold the button for about 2 seconds. So I know I didn’t just accidently hit the button and hold it.

Yesterday I noticed my radio going in and out a couple of times. This was on normal radio, not satellite. That signal never goes out. Didn’t think much of it.

Today though that’s when I really noticed problems. I pull out of my driveway and the radio (normal) cuts off for about a second. As I’m driving I hear a rattle on the passenger side and the radio cuts off for about another second but this time I notice the gauges lightly flicker. It does this twice. Then when I’m on the highway, I hear the rattle and the screen and radiogoes off! It comes back after about a second. I didn’t feel any loss of power to the car’s engine.

When I pull into my parking garage, I turn off the car. When I turned off the car, I notice the screen brightened up first (a very quick flicker not even ½ asecond) when it turned off. I go to the back to open the trunk and it will not open. I go back in the car and notice the On/Off button very dimly flickering. My car won’t turn on. I checked the battery (eyeballing it mostly) and the connectors seemed ok on the battery. I just pressed down on them and nothing seemed to move. I thought maybe my battery died (even though I just put in a new one back in November) so I asked someone next to me for a jump.

I went to go get the cables from my trunk (I had forgotten it didn’t open before) and it opened this time. So I go and try to turn on the car and it turns on!

What do you think?
