Hardwire radar detector

Does anyone have pictures and steps of how to hardwire a radar detector. I have the escort max 2 and it's in the dash and I want to put it up by the rear view mirror? Thanks

I have it mounted using a rear mirror bracket with wiring tucked under headliner and a-pillar panels and plugged into the fusebox, took less than an hour for the whole thing but you have to have a few parts such as a plug for the fusebox unless you want to make your own. Some people also splice into the rearview mirror wires to get power.

Get a Blendmount & a 6-8" Invisacord. Takes 5 minutes. I don't know why people want to do it the hard way running to the fusebox. Look on the BM site for tons of pictures.

Cause its a more solid and reliable way of doing it, other than sticking a wire in the back of your mirror...

Well, I disagree. The cord comes with metal blades that wedge tightly in the back of the plug. It is not visible. I hang a parking pass over the mount monthly & have never dislodged any wires. If you haven't seen this configuration in person, don't disregard it.

I've done both.

It's preference.

I like the hard wire route

I have 2 cords to do: an Escort Max 2 and Blackvue dash cam. Can I integrate two into one add a circuit. Both will have fuses in the wiring.

^^Neither device draws any significant amount of current. Both should be fine on a 5amp circuit, or even a 3amp circuit.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you don't try to pull more current than the wire and fuse are rated for.

You can run an add a fuse to the "socket" fuse, which is the power outlets. That's where I've got my dashcam running with a 5A fuse.
