BlackVue Dash Cam

Has anyone used a BlackVue dashcam? This is the second time I've seen it on MassDrop and I'm considering it, for the parking mode if nothing else. Not to mention its super sleek form factor.
If no one has, I guess I may have to report back.

iv installed this exact model been looking for a 2 channel for awhile and the blackvue is really second to none. the only issue i had and its not the easiest to find is that make sure you get yourself a low profile fuse tap. other then that it works fenominal picture is really clear

I have the Blackvue 650DW as well - I haven't been able to get mine working with the power magic pro yet though.

NZeex are you using yours with the power magic pro?
Or are you risking running your battery down when the car is off?
Or do you just have your wired up to an accessory power source .

funny you should ask originally i ran it with the poower magic pro the one it came with wired it all up and it was just draining the power to nothing after two days did a few draw test and power ground test and all was fine so then i just got another power magic and its been working fine. from what i understand if you dont turn the unit off prior to supplying it power it blows i dont think i did that but since i replaced it with another its been working like it should i have it set to 11.8v and so far so good

Thanks for the info man. I originally thought I blew mine.. but I guess the dip switches on the PMP I had reversed and you have to flick the button off and change the dips to what you want and try again.. Took me a few tries but I eventually got the light to stay on solid green. I must have had it set to something extremely high voltage cutoff like euro 22v etc..

Long story short I now have it set to 11.8v cutoff where the 2nd dipswitch is thrown towards the ON side. Also I found I didn't need the accessory (red) wire and just the yellow battery wire - is this how yours is setup or do you have both hooked up? I figure when it's cold out I'll likely turn the PMP off when parking for long periods of time but for summer it should be okay (little worried about heat though)

Well the yellow wire needs the be hooked up to constant power when the ignition switch is off in order for it to work on parking mode but if you don't want that then yeah you can run the red wire only to a accessorie fuse and clip the yellow wire. I'm thinking the same on the winter months shutting off th pmp. I live in Massachusetts lol.

I am in Massachusetts as well (framingham to be exact). I noticed mine works with just the yellow wire and the PMP but now I am guessing that when you flip the power on the PMP it probably activates the accessory wire so that runs when the car is on. I was afraid I was going to over volt my blackvue by having them both connected but I guess it makes sense as that switch being a bypass.

Cant wait to get mine all buttoned up and working tonight.. Really dying to cleanup all the wires and zippy everything. I have quite a few accessories that I had to get a breakout bus bar and made one side Constant 12V and the other Acc 12V for my lights etc..

I have

-Footwell lights (actually some left over ikea LED strips with the color changing button)
-Dashcam (just added)
-Remote turn-on wire for my amplifier since the stock Bose one doesnt throw enough juice to kick mine on

Future additions are going to be
-My own custom DRL's on a switch
-Evil Eye's LED's in my headslights.. might wire these with the DRL's haven't decided yet.

Got a mobius on order. Should be here soon.

From all the youtube videos i've looked at, it had the best image quality. Doesn't have gps though. I'm willing to give that up for good (great) video quality.

Cool Jsolo, def looking forward to some video or shots of it installed.

I am worried about heat, I like the black stealth look but this thing gets hot on it's own, nevermind that it's not even full blown summer yet. Any thoughts on keeping it cool? I wanted to make a reflective shield over it or something. Mine is mounted just below the factory tint strip behind my rear view mirror.
