Iphone 6 cable is stuck in my 2012 Infiniti G37x center usb connector :(

Hello guys,

has anyone had this experience and had it resolved?

few days ago, I connected my friend's Iphone 6 cable (Connection works fine, music plays and stuff) and I can't seem to pull it out,
I've tried pulling it out for hours and hours and I am scared I might be doing damage to the center usb connector, I'm not even sure who to see to take this removed? Should I really be at a dealership or a car mechanic cuz of this stupid little phone usb stuck in my car?

Did anyone have a similar experience?

Please help!

I've never heard of such a thing. If I were in this situation, the cable would have to go, and by any means possible. I'd use pliers to grip the cable well, and pull. That's just me though.

i am dead serious,
the usb is stuck in there for good, my nails hurt from trying to take it out, I'm really dissapointed with infiniti on these compatibility issues :S

Ive thought about pliers but I am scared it might damage any sensitive connection jacks in the usb adapter,

is this only me? I really don't understand why this is happening lol....

Must be a tight fit.
I'd try some pliers or vice-grips.
Mines not that tight. Maybe either the cable or jack is bent.

Same thing happened to me, also with an iPod cable.

Wrestled with it for 5 minutes, got it out with vice grips.
Don't be afraid to give it a good tug, there is not much you can damage around there.

Don't be so quick to judge. I'm not saying it's an issue with the cable, but it could very well be a compatibility issue with the cable.

Apple likes to be as proprietary as possible, so I wouldn't be surprised if they deviate away from an open standard in the slightest. Check out this discussion:

Until you know more about what the issue it, I'd assume it's the cable rather than the car...at at the very least, assume equally that the problem is with the car or cable rather than jumping to a conclusion.

It's the cable, not the car. I have 5 iphone 5/6 cables in my house. 2 stick, 3 come right out. The issue is the little square holes that keep the connection tight are just ever so slightly off.

Push down as you pull out. If you have a very thin piece of metal (like the little gauges you use when doing valve jobs) you can try to insert it to help free the plug.

I have the same problem. My iPhone 4, no problem. Did think the iPhone 6 was a little harder to get in. DH plugged it in and now it will not budge. Dealer mechanic thought, no problem. He couldn't remove it. Now have to take car in and they have to remove the consul to try and pop the da#%^* thing out. Will probably need a new port and had to buy a new cord for the iPhone. Mechanic said he had seen a couple of these

Why did you use a friends cable and not your own?

Is this an Apple cable or a cheap knockoff?

I've never had a problem with my IPod USB cable

If it is such a problem getting it out, why not just leave it.

Or as others have mentioned use vice grips

Hey Ericoh. Sorry to bump such an old thread, but were you able to get the cord out? I've had a lightning cable stuck in the usb port of my '11 g37 for like the past 3 years.
