Delete Music from Hard Drive?
#5
When you insert a CD, there's an option on the left side of the screen which reads "burn" and gives you an option for burning just one song or all the selections. It's easy once you play around with it. Hope this helps!

I'm not sure I understand your question. Because I had an iPod when I purchased my G in '08, I never loaded music onto the internal drive. I've always connected my iPod by cable to the audio system and played my music (and books) directly from the iPod. Why burn to a CD when your iPod will function perfectly in the G?

So it sounds like my only choice is either to burn MANY cd's and store them....or I can download the iPods contents into a USB and just play them without storing them. Anybody have any other ideas or have I gotten as far as I can go with this one?

Those are pretty much your only choices. I've got a 32gb USB "short" drive so it only sticks out about 1/2 inch in the console. The navigation on it is absolutely terrible though and I almost never use the music stored on the USB. It'd be best to use it to store playlists rather than a collection of music.
The music box is also somewhat irritating to use as organization is next to impossible. I'd recommend only burning your absolute favorite albums or songs that you listen to all the time to it. Then getting a small USB drive and changing your playlists on your computer at home as your mood suits.

I'll have to go out to the car and look but there is an option to delete all the contents at one time. I had to do it when I bought the car as the previous owner had some music that didn't match my preferences. If somebody hasn't posted about it by the time I leave work today, I'll take some pictures and post them.

the music box playlist is pretty ez to delete, just use the music box settings. a tip a got from the dealer is not to fill the music box, the nav system shares it memory. more space on hard drive = faster nav processing. get an ipod nano, holds 8GB, fill it up with your tunes. i have already stored 2000 titles on my old nano.
