Bluetooth music streaming for 08-09

Hey guys I just got my car, and I know their are some rigs to trying to get Bluetooth streaming. I was wondering has anyone tried to find out what they actually changed in the newer models to enable Bluetooth music streaming?

We just got my mother a Chevrolet cruze and it did not come with Bluetooth music streaming, but someone swapped a module from a newermcamaro for that car and he had Bluetooth music.

What I am asking you tech savvy guys is, is their a possibility we can do something similar and just swap to a newer model module?

I own a 2009 Infiniti g37s with navigation

Here is the link to the guy with the cruze doing the swap:

Nope, the problem I'm not tech savvy enough. If someone knew about the specific part like the cruze that needed to be changed, I would call the dealer and find out.

IIRC, the 2010+ models have BT streaming- not sure if you need specific tech pkg. or what.

Seems possible that swapping out the BT module in the trunk with a newer one "might" work as the A/V unit in the dash is basically another "middle man" between CAN components. I'm currently trying to source one off eBay to replace the one in my '08- which doesn't work at all.

I'll update once I get to it- I have several other projects on the table currently.

OK so their is an actual specific Bluetooth module in our cars, similar to how the gentleman had it in the cruze. This is helpful, going to look online and look for as parts guide, this could really really really help a lot of G owners.

The BT "module" is integrated with the handsfree telephone module in the trunk. It is mounted under the trunk liner to the right hand side (at least in my '08) next to the SAT radio module. My car does not even have SAT radio yet I have the module and antenna, anyway. A long story.

Now I am not sure if just replacing the module will give the BT streaming that the newer models have or if there is also some programming in the software of the main AV unit that enables this function. Either way I have to replace the module anyway so it will be interesting to see- just not sure when I will get around to it.

replacing that unit would do nothing. For real bt streaming you need a 2010 head unit with nav. It's possible to install one in a 08 but cost a lot and requires rewiring the car.

Thanks for the clarification. I still have to replace the module as my BT does not work at all.

After that I'll have to check into the adapter.

Thanks for the lead.

If you're really adventurous you could look into this:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...navi-unit.html

The 2010 and newer models have an upgraded nav system, higher resolution screen, and BT audio streaming. It's possible to swap out the head unit and screen and wire it all up.
