Intelligent Cruise Control

Hey guys!
I have a 2010 G37s and my brother just got a 2008 G35s. The G35 has ICC, so I was just wondering if it were possible to install the ICC onto the G37.
Thanks!

I'm sure if you wanted to run the wiring to the correct modules, purchase the $2,000 sensor, and get a new steering wheel to control the ICC, I'd say yes - it is possible. Is it worth it? Probably not.

It would not be easy. Extra parts and extra money. Not feasible, but probably possible for an insane amount of money and work.

I don't think the ICC is really worth it to be honest. I have it in my current G and if you're lowered at all it takes a lot longer to find the vehicle in front of you at night. It's a cool feature, but I don't like it personally. I actually wish there was a way I could disable the intelligent portion of the cruise control and make it manual.

Just spend the money on a mod that's worth the money you would spend in trying to upgrade to the ICC.

Press and hold the on button down for several seconds when activating the cruise. It will activate in regular mode.

Thanks for all the replies guys!
I live in LA and we have really bad traffic here so theoretically ICC would really help. But I haven't even tried it yet so I guess there's a reason so few Gs even come with it.
And for the mods, might as well. If only I knew where to start...

If you used ICC in bad traffic you would crash, because ICC disables itself below 25 mph. Once your speed drops below 25mph, ICC will turn off. It isn't designed for traffic, but on or roads when everyone goes over 25mph at least. It is EXTREMELY dangerous to use this in traffic. I only use mine when I'm driving on roads with little traffic.

Furthermore, ICC will NOT stop your car completely if someone in front of you slammed on the brakes. ICC will slow down but then once you go below 25 mph it will shut itself off so you will have to manually apply brakes after that. ICC will also be disabled when your wipers on on the second position as well as debris covering sensor.

For your needs, it won't work on any G. You'll have to buy the newer models with the full range speed laser sensor like the FX and the Q.

I actually seem to be stuck in around 40 MPH traffic. I realize that it disengages under 25 but I still haven't gotten the chance to try it out. And I feel that in really bad traffic the following distance would be too high.

Also that. You'll have everyone cutting you off easily. You'll end up slower in traffic.

I guess it only helps on long drives really. I'm gonna try my brother's car this weekend though just to see for myself.

Good call. Thanks!

Honestly if it's that important to you why not just trade your current G in for one that has the ICC? It would most likely be much easier than trying to install it and trying to figure out everything you may need.
