2012 G37x w/ nav and traffic in NY/LI area. Many major roads often have no traffic readings (my other cars with Sirius traffic constantly get reading on these roads) and often a highway will have a traffic reading only on one side of the road. Is this normal for Nav traffic? thx

 

AFAIK, the nav traffic only shows traffic on interstates, not state highway/arterial roads. If you want the most in depth, google maps/w traffic is where it's at. Or try waze on your smartphone.

 

That is not my experience. Using the nav recently, I had an alert on a state road in nj. The alert was exactly where the issue was. In addition the nav shows alerts on the garden state and turnpike.

 

Must vary by region then. IIRC, here in chicago all it showed was interstate traffic. If I can get 'em to honor the $10/5 month deal again I may sign up.
